We will be going on our first field trip on Thursday. We will be watching a performance called Tin Soldier. We will be leaving at 8:50 and arriving back to the school around noon. I ask that you feed your child a hearty breakfast that morning as we will not be able to partake in our routine snack at 10:30. If you have not done so, please go online to fill out the permission form. As of right now, only half of you have done this. Please do as soon as you can. I'd like to have all of them completed by tomorrow. If you have any questions or run into any problems, please call Maureen Horrocks in the office, 780-987-3705. You can also go into the office to complete it on the desktop that is specifically for parents to use.
We are going to start to study the letters of the alphabet this week. We are starting with the letter C. We follow a program called Itchy's Alphabet which is a systematic, multi-sensory phonics program. Each letter has a picture in the shape of it to give the child a cue to remember both the sound and shape of the letter. You may find the order that we teach the letters to be strange. The order the program uses is based on the concept of building prior knowledge.
Next Thursday afternoon, Oct 29th, we will be having our Halloween party. Please send in costumes and Mrs. Boida, Mrs. Pigford and I will get them dressed up for the afternoon celebration. I would like to carve pumpkins with the kids in the morning. If you are able to come in to volunteer that morning, please let me know. Also, please let me know what you are bringing if your family is signed up for Halloween. The names I have for Halloween are: Aviah, Brett, Brittany, Caden, Gabby.
