Our Week

We have been busy working on fine motor skills, the letter Qq, and many more things this week! Here are a few pictures to give you an idea of what goes on around here. For more pictures, click on the link above and you will find many more pictures.

Before pictures, here are a few things I wanted to mention. It would be helpful to stick an extra pair of gloves/mittens in your child's backpack. I find that their mittens/gloves get wet during the first recess and there's not enough time for them to dry out before the next one. I hate sending them out with wet mitts.

Also, please ensure that your child's items are labeled. We have some unidentified items around here. I know they belong to someone, I just can't figure out who. If you notice something has gone missing, please let me know.

The kids had to really use the muscles in their hands to use the hole punches to get those letter q's.
For every letter we do a page in our picture dictionary. This reinforces the letter sound and lets the kids practice their cutting and gluing skills.

Q-tip painting when we study the ;letter Qq. Vertical surface work with our slant boards.
Working on vertical surfaces is very beneficial.
We read a story called, "The Mitten" by Jan Brett. We will read a few more stories by this author over the next couple weeks. Next week, your child will bring home a mini book to share with you. Please ask them what the story is about.

Playing the game, "Beat You to 10". Practicing numbers and game play.

We are always finding new ways to develop those muscles in our hands.
Logan's creation at our creation center. He did an excellent job on his tiger!

Tialla recently returned from a trip to Japan and brought back some delicious cookies to share with us.

That's all for now. I will update the December calendar soon. It is going to be a fun month!
