I hope you all had a wonderful break! I really enjoyed my time off with my own kids. I am really looking forward to seeing my kinders tomorrow. I cannot wait to hear all the stories they have to share. We will for sure start our morning off with a sharing circle!
I am not going to bombard you with to do's today. We will ease into January gently. I do want you to keep a couple things in mind. We are skating next week. We need a few volunteers on the ice to skate with us and would appreciate people to help tie skates. Please let me know soon if you are able to help out.. Also, please give me a head's up if your child does not have skates or a helmet. Children are not allowed to wear bike helmets on the ice. Ski helmets will work.
I will be sending another home project home on Thursday. The students will be creating a snow person. I will send more details home and will send some pictures of the book that inspired this project. It is similar to the turkey project, however they are just creating the snowman, not creating a disguise. I can't wait to see all the unique creations that come back to school.
I will continue picking a "special" student each day. This student has special privileges throughout the day. Something different than before is this student will be asked to bring a show and share item of their choice on their turn. They will also have the privilege of bringing in favorite book they want me to read to the class. I will stick a reminder in the mailbag when it's your child's turn.
We will be drawing our monthly home reading winners tomorrow so make sure you send in those home reading sheets. I hope you and your kids got to enjoy some good books over the holidays.
See you in the morning!
