I can't believe that we are half way through this school year. While doing report cards I did a lot of reflecting on the kids and think that they are all showing so much growth. I can't wait to see their growth over the next 5 months. They always seem to start picking things up more quickly at this time of the year. Depending on your child's needs, I am going to start sending home some small tasks. It may involve sight word practice, leveled reading, or even printing or letter/number practice. I will look at each child and decide what he/she needs to help him/her grow right now.
I have added some important days on the calendar and have also added them to Reminders. If you look at the blog on your mobile device, you may not see the Reminders.
We are skating again next week. Because the Puppet Lady is coming on Thursday morning, we will only skate on Tuesday from 10:00-10:30. Please let me know if you are able to volunteer on the ice or able to tie skates. Again, I want to give a big shout out to everyone who gave their time to come out last month!
You will see on the calendar that I will be gone during the last week of February. Marla Forchuk currently teaches grade 3 in our school but taught in our kindergarten room for years in the past. She is such a great lady and will be in with the kids on both days I am away.
It will be a very short week for us, one day. I am going to use it to review the letters and numbers we've learned up to now. We will also practice some more complex patterns and learn a couple new math games. It will be a great day!
As usual, please contact me with any questions, concerns or requests that you might have.
