Fun Day!

We had another good field trip. We got to check out the behind scenes at Dairy Queen, got ice cream cones and got to play in the indoor park. Check out the pictures in the Community Walking Field Trip folder on the Pictures page.

We got to try something new today. Mr. Henderson led us through a Drum Fit class. Check out a picture below:

Basically it's a fun workout where we use the balls and drumsticks. We get another class on Thursday. 

Our next field trip will take place on May 10 at 9am. We will head to the RCMP station. We then go to the Fire Station on May 17 at 1pm. 

Today we looked at the letter Vv. After this week, we only have 4 letters of the alphabet left, Y, W, X, Z. Every child is at a different level and that's how it should be. I cannot ask you all to do the same thing. I do encourage you to stick in learning opportunities at home if you can. This could look like educational apps, home reading, asking your child to write notes, asking your child to be letter detectives, etc. It is very helpful when you reinforce what I am teaching at school. If your child does want to do some writing, I encourage you to let him/her sound out words on their own. It's okay if he/she does not spell it correctly. Sounding out letters and writing down what they hear is part of the whole process.
