We were so busy today that we did not choose home reading books at the end of the day. I did send home the tracking sheet. Feel free to keep that at home until one side is filled up or you may also want to stick in in the home reading bag when it gets here. Feel free to write down and track any home reading that is happening.
Thank you to everyone who is remembering to send back the large Ziploc bags that we are using as a temporary way to transport paperwork to and from school. If you haven't sent back your child's information packages that were sent home last week, please do so. Our office staff is trying to get all the information updated quickly. Please also send back the SUTP books if you are not interested in purchasing it.
We got through 7 Me Bag presentations today. It was a tricky day to do anymore as it was an indoor recess day. When the kids are inside all day, I find that it's harder for them to sit and be excellent listeners. We will try and get through more on Thursday. We might have to extend some presentations to next Tuesday if we do not finish them next day. We loved seeing what everyone brought.
One more thing, and I am reminding you because I just got a message from my husband saying that he had to make a trip to my son's school today to deliver clothes. I guess he fell in a puddle. Please send your child in some extra clothes. I would love it if you send them in a labeled Ziploc bag. Please ensure you include socks. Those seem to be the most used item from my experience.
Feel free to come to the school on Thursday night. We are hosting a community picnic/meet the teacher/open house. It is from 5-7. I am on the planning committee so I will probably be helping with food for a lot of the night. Please come and see me outside though. If you want to come into see the classroom, I will be in there for sure between 6:30-7.
I am already seeing kids getting more and more comfortable in the classroom and it's been such a short time. They have really been working on being great listeners and kind friends.
